National Dress Day - My Top Ten Picks

Finally with Spring looming (It officially starts on the 20th March, not that i'm counting it down or anything) It's time to fake tan those legs and bare all in some spring dresses.

I have worn dresses all winter but it's a pretty obvious fact that tights just don't cut the mustard in the cold and I have spent a lot more time in joggers, jeans and pyjamas (yes i've worn them on the school run!)

I am looking forwards to soft fabrics, floaty long dresses and converse as it starts to warm up. I have pulled together ten of my favourite dresses currently on the high street. Affordable, some of them are on sale and as always with anything I do pretty random in style.

Oh and hopefully the title of the video gives it away but today (6th March) is National Dress Day!

Polkadots have been a love of mine for 'years' there is something about them that feels youthful and fun (In what can feel like a fairly drab and adulty life).

The 3/4 length sleeves are flattering along with the length and the belt (which could easily be replaced) pulls the dress in in all the right places.

Black tights and biker boots (if you're not ready to bare all) or white converse would be my look of choice for this dress.

Dungaree dresses are SO versatile and that's why I love them. Go up a size and slip a chunky knit jumper under there or in the warmer months it could be a tee.

Extra pockets and if it's that time of the month and you're feeling a little bloated it's hidden away nicely underneath the giant pocket on the front and the straps are adjustable depending on whether your tall and leggy or short and stumpy (like me)

Last summer I lived in dresses like this in varying colours. Linen style fabric, buttoned up front, loose for comfort but with a few pleats and gatherings for style.

This burnt orange colour is gorgeous. I personally wouldn't wear black tights with this look but again converse in the spring or tan sandals in the height of summer.

My love affair with mustard continues from my house to my wardrobe.

Another loose and comfy dress (this honestly is starting to be my preference more and more) small details with the buttons and the cuffs on the sleeve.

Biker boots with a tanned leg would be oh so dreamy with this look and all broken up with a matching black leather jacket.

I think with this dress i'm swayed by the stunning model and her perfect topknot (I can never perfect that look)

Dalmation print was huge over the winter but it seems to be seeping in to Spring too. With the black print you could easily pair this with tights and pumps or again Biker boots (yes I love biker boots) and another leather jacket look to finish it off.

Cute, cute and more cute!

In this dress I would feel compelled to collect flowers in a white a basket (no idea why) It shouts 'Little house on the prairie' 'country bumpkin' 'chuck your wellies on with me' which I think could work.

I love the ditsy pattern, the low neckline and the size of the sleeves. Pair it with a barbour jacket or something slightly lighter for a bold look.

Back to my obsession with Linen (It honestly is such a nice fabric to wear)

The twisted buttons running across break up the colour so nicely. Again not one to wear with black tights but perfect for the warmer months with a pair of tan pumps or sandals.

This dress is dreamy. I've been looking at aprons for months in a very similar style.

Technically a dungaree dress but slightly more elegant. The colour is perfect for spring. The shoe i'll have to get back to you on. But if all else fails a white converse always performs

And it's on offer!!

'Oh hi i'm just looking all professional together in my BEAUTIFUL linen dress'

Does this dress not just scream class!

It's gorgeous, a little bit more pricey but personally I think probably worth it.

The tie up waist give endless options for style and the unbuttoned cuffs just ooze nonchalance.

Next dress for Malta?

I could see myself wondering around the harbourside in this dress, a basket bag and a tan sandal, big shades and some chunky gold Jewellery.

A dream in blue stripes, and pretty affordable.

(no tights on this one, no idea what they have done with these grim strappy heels)

There we go, some inspo for the looming spring. I cannot wait to start feeling the sun on my face and wearing something other than black and navy.

I would love to know what your latest dress purchase was and whether you've been brave enough to bare your legs yet!?
